Warrant: Woman slit puppy’s throat
A Silver Creek woman has been jailed on a felony aggravated animal cruelty charge.
According to an arrest warrant:
39-year-old Hope Leann McAlee slit the throat of a female puppy.
The incident occurred on February 8 at McAlee’s home on Plemmons Road.
Alleged gang member charged in inmate assault dating back to 2021
A Columbus, Georgia man has been returned to Floyd County to face charges of aggravated assault, unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, and participation in criminal street gang activity.
According to the arrest warrants:
26-year-old Tylor Lee Daniel Britton fashioned a weapon out of a belt and a combination lock and used it to beat another inmate about the head and torso.
The victim required medical attention.
Britton is a purported member of the “Rolling 60” subset of the “Cribs” criminal street gang.
Man charged with drug possession, criminal damage to property
An Atlanta man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday on 14 counts of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.
According to jail records:
33-year-old Edmond Therman Dix had psilocybin mushrooms, 13 ecstasy pills, and several broken pills.
He also had a small amount of marijuana and scratched the letter X on the walls of his girlfriend’s Rome residence and on her dresser.
Dix is also charged with is also charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and criminal trespass.
Sex offender accused of failing to register his vehicle
A West Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with violating Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry law.
According to the warrant:
45-year-old Keith Michael Lewis failed to register his 1989 Honda CM400 as required by law.
