The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded a contract for the resurfacing of Highway 156/Rosedale Road in Northern Floyd County.

The project includes close to seven miles of milling, inlay, and plant mix paving from Highway 27 North to the Gordon County Line.

C.W. Matthews Contracting of Marietta was the low bidder at just under $5.9 million.

The estimated completion date is October 31.

GDOT also awarded a contract for bridge construction and approaches on Highway 27 over a Cedar Creek tributary in Polk County.

Williams Contracting of Duluth submitted a low bid of just under $3 million.

The work has a completion date of May 31.
