Man accused of fleeing from police twice also charged with fentanyl trafficking
A West Rome man was arrested Monday on multiple charges including trafficking fentanyl, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and fleeing or attempting to elude.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
25-year-old Mibzar Maquito Perez was found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle on North Elm Street at Verbana Avenue.
When Rome police asked him to step out of the vehicle, he drove off, fleeing through several residential neighborhoods.
Perez also fled from Floyd County police in the area of Park Road and Cave Spring Road.
Several open containers of alcohol were located in the vehicle along with 866 grams of suspected fentanyl.
Perez is also charged with open container, DUI, reckless driving, laying drag, driving on the wrong side of the road, and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
Teen accused of assaulting family member
A North Rome teen is facing a felony count of aggravated assault following her arrest Monday at her Green and Gold Boulevard residence.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Melody Gwen Long assaulted a female family member by strangling her.
Man accused of damaging storefront on North Broad Street
A Fairburn, Georgia man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday on a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
34-year-old Brett Ronald Johnson caused around $1,500 in damage to a storefront at 1410 North Broad Street by throwing a large rock through the glass.
A Fairburn, Georgia man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday on a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.
Report: Man threw baggie of meth to the floor in front of police
A 29-year-old West Rome man was jailed Monday on charges of tampering with evidence and possession of methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Javarick Davon McCain threw a clear baggie containing suspected methamphetamine onto the floor in the presence of police at a location on North Fifth Avenue.
McCain is also being held for a probation violation.
Woman charged with meth, marijuana possession
A Rome woman was arrested at a motel on Martha Berry Boulevard on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
42-year-old Amanda Ann Moncrief was found with suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and glass smoking devices with residue.
She is charged with possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.
Man arrested at restaurant on meth possession charge
A homeless man was arrested Monday for possession of methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail records and a Rome Police Department report:
Officers received word that a man wanted on a probation violation warrant was sitting inside Hardees on Turner McCall Boulevard.
34-year-old Keith O’Bryann Stocks told police that he had nothing to say to them and that they were not “under contract” to speak with him.
Stocks was then found with suspected meth.
