Man arrested for fleeing or attempting to elude

A Rome man is accused of leading police on a pursuit that reached speeds of 111 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A vehicle driven by 28-year-old Daniel Juan was seen crossing over the double yellow line and into oncoming traffic in the area of Cave Spring Road and Sanders Drive.

Juan then failed to stop as police attempted a traffic stop.

He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, speeding, DUI, driving on the wrong side of the road, and failure to maintain a lane.

Man accused of fighting with police

A Rome man was arrested Sunday on charges of felony obstruction of officers, battery, and simple assault.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

41-year-old Ray Earl Mack hit and shoved a 71-year-old man at a location on Grove Avenue in Lindale.

He then resisted police by acting in a fighting manner and threw a table at one of the police officers.

Man accused of hitting and threatening woman, fighting with officers

A South Rome man is facing multiple charges following an incident on Turner McCall Boulevard over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

32-year-old Terrence Jerome Johnson Jr. hit a woman several times and threatened to kill her.

He then fought with police, kicking at one officer and breaking another’s eyeglasses.

Johnson is charged with felony and misdemeanor obstruction of officers, terroristic threats and acts, criminal trespass with damage to property, and battery.

More charges for suspect in vehicle break-in

A Dalton man arrested last week for entering a 1996 GMC van on Haywood Valley Road in Armuchee on December 7 is facing additional charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

On December 12, investigators with the Floyd County Police Department Lookout Mountain Task Force went to a residence on Turner Bend Road in Coosa to serve felony arrest warrants for 35-year-old William Thomas Love.

Love barricaded himself in a room where he knew firearms were located.

He also tried to kick officers as they were trying to place him under arrest.

Love is charged with felony obstruction, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and simple assault.

Convicted felon accused of pulling gun during argument

A North Rome man has been arrested on warrants in connection with an incident at his Chambers Street residence back on September 14.

According to the warrants:

44-year-old Chiresco Rodriques Montgomery pulled a gun during an argument with another man and racked it.

Montgomery is charged with disorderly conduct, simple assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and a parole violation.

Man charged with meth possession

An Armuchee man is facing drug charges following his arrest over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

34-year-old Tyrone L Strickland Jr. was found with suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and a glass smoking device while at a location on Jones Mill Road.

He is charged with possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.
