Etowah Valley Humane Society — Cheer
(770) 383-3338
This beautiful young girl’s name obviously comes from her cheerful personality and outlook. Just 2 months old, this young lady knows no home except for the shelter. Weighing in at 11 lbs, she is destined for bigger (and better) things and its just looking for a furr-ever family to call her own. She is a mixed breed, who believes that labels don’t make the girl.
She will demand your full attention, but it’s a commitment well worth making. This loving girl may be bashful at first, but once she warms up to you, she’ll be your loyal friend for life.
Cheer is looking for a loving family where she’ll get lots of warmth and attention, play time, cuddles, pets and affection from her new guardian. Visitation is by appointment only with an approved application on file. Click here for more info on Cheer or any of our current residents, or click here to email us.

The Paw Project of Georgia — Persimmon
(470) 789-PAWS
Persimmon was trapped outside but was way too sweet to TNR. She is such an affectionate and beautiful baby. She enjoys laying in your lap for long afternoon cuddles. She will be the perfect companion for someone looking for a friend! (Especially on these cold days!)
Persimmon is negative for FIV/FeLV, spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you would like to meet her, please click here to complete our on-line cat questionnaire, and click here to return it by email.

Barkville Dog Rescue — Daisy Heard
(770) 846-8946
Daisy is a lovable, young Shepherd/Lab/Hound Mix. She’ was born around December of 2022, and weighs 55lbs. Before ending up a rural GA shelter, and later coming to BarkVille Dog Rescue, Daisy had only ever lived outside. This sweet girl had not had much training or socialization until now, and is currently learning all the important things in her foster home. She’s working on her house training, crate training, and is already pretty good on leash. Daisy is dog friendly, and enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home! Daisy can be slow to warm up to strangers, as she hasn’t met many people in her short life, but she is getting better and better with more outings!
Daisy loves to spend her days playing fetch with her “chuck it” balls, frolicking in the sprinkler, and spending time with her human and doggy friends. She still has lots of puppy antics, so she would love a family who will continue working on her basic training and obedience. A quieter home with a fenced yard, with or without other dogs, would be ideal for Daisy! Daisy is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. For more information about this deserving girl, please email us at [email protected] or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications.

The Pawprint Pack — Lacy
(770) 865-4672
Hi! I’m Lacy! My previous name was Luna. But my rescuers said that my past name belongs in the past because a brighter future is ahead of me! Time to move on and move forward. I was given up by my previous owners. They sent me to death at the shelter. I almost lost my life, but thankfully at the last couple of hours, I was saved! I’m around 3 years old and a lab mix. I’m fully vetted, fully house and crate trained, and full of love and energy!
I do well with other dogs but have not met a kitty yet. I LOVE KIDS! They are so fun to play with, lay with, and eat with! So, now that I’m safe and ready to find my pack, that means you have the perfect opportunity to send that email and come meet me! I’ll be a good girl and will wait patiently for you. But don’t you make me wait to long!! Email [email protected] right now!

Angels Among Us Pet Rescue — Johnny Papa
(877) 404-5874
Meet Johnny Papa, our snug-sized, 8-pound Chihuahua who needs a little extra love and patience. With a tricky past, he may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he’s all about those cozy belly rubs and snuggles by the TV or in bed.
Just imagine coming home to this cute little face every day! Don’t let his past fool you, Johnny Papa just needs someone with an understanding heart who can help him break out of his shell. If you’ve got experience with non-socialized dogs and have a child-free home, you might just be his perfect match! Moreover, he does get along well with other small, submissive dogs.

PAWS in Middle Georgia — Delilah
(478) 227-8805
“Hey there Delilah, what’s it like in Middle Georgia? A family seems like miles away, but girl, you are so pretty, they’ll come for you…I swear it’s true….
Can you imagine that this beautiful girl was rescued from death row? She was so close to the rainbow, her eye absorbed the blue. Delilah has been a sweetheart since arriving. She has taken to the changes like a champ and quickly become a volunteer favorite. With her loving personality and sweet face.
Delilahs previous owners failed to provide monthly preventives and she finds herself heartworm positive. However, treatment has begun (full course of treatment is covered by Paws) and now is the perfect time to adopt! You’ll have time to bond and snuggle while your giving her her treatments. By the time Spring arrives, she should be ready to hike, play fetch, and go for walks.
This girl is crate and house trained. She’s the perfect size. She enjoys laying next to you will you watch TV or do work.”

Paw Prints Animal Rescue — Lewie
(919) 772-9107
We would like for everyone to meet Lewie. He’s a 9 month old Pit Bull Terrier. He weighs about 40 lbs and is super sweet. He is a bit of an attention hog so it may take him a few to get used to other pets. He is currently being fostered near Athens and transport is available if needed.
Lewie is very sweet and extremely sociable. She’s a good companion and likes to sleep with her foster mom. He is good with other dogs and enjoys roughhouse play. He’s okay with cats but wants to chase them if they run. Lewie needs an experienced dog owner, patient with positive reinforcement training experience. His “must haves” include a fenced yard with trees and lots of squirrels (he is an avid squirrel chaser!)
If you would like to submit an application on Lewie or any Paw Prints cat, click here.
