WZQZ Radio Report –
Chattooga County law enforcement will be out over the holiday period looking for impaired drivers and making sure the roads are safe for holiday travel.
The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office along with Summerville Police and Trion Police and the Georgia State Patrol will be patrolling local roads and city streets during the holidays, and remind holiday commuters to buckle up, put the cell phone down and of course – never drink and drive.
Last year there were fourteen fatalities on Georgia’s roadways during the Christmas Holiday travel period.
Local law enforcement says one of the best things you can do if you are traveling during the holidays this year, is to give yourself plenty of time. Slow down and make sure that you are aware of others around you on the road.
If you see an impaired driver, you can call Chattooga 911 or call the GSP at *GSP and report the incident.
