Man charged in thefts from storage units
A Dallas, Georgia man is facing multiple charges in Floyd County.
According to the arrest warrants:
50-year-old Johnathan Lynn Stansell entered storage units on Alabama Highway between May and August of 2021 and took various items including tools and credit cards.
He then used the credit cards to make more than $3,261 in transactions.
Stansell also entered storage units on Martha Berry Highway between March and May of 2021, taking a motorcycle, clothes, a television, a toaster oven, a space heater, and personal identifying information of the victims.
He is charged with three counts of 2nd-degree burglary, along with single counts of theft by taking, theft by taking a motor vehicle, financial transaction card theft, and financial transaction card fraud.
Man accused of damaging property, obstructing 911 call
A Garden Lakes man was arrested over the weekend following an incident at his Elliott Drive home.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
30-year-old Edy Roblero Sanchez pushed a woman to the couch and slapped her in the face.
He also grabbed the victim by the neck and face, threw a coffee table, and broke the woman’s cell phone when she tried to call emergency services.
The incident occurred in front of a child.
Sanchez is charged with 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, battery, simple assault, obstructing a 911 call, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
Report: South Rome man damaged computer, door, and TV during argument
A South Rome man was arrested Sunday at his Pollock Street apartment on charges of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, and obstructing a 911 call.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Jesstin Emell Washington busted an Apple computer, a door, and a television during an argument.
He also threw the pregnant victim’s phone as she tried to call 911.
Report: Man threw book bag containing “CBD” into Coosa River
A Silver Creek man was arrested late last week on charges of littering public waterways, obstruction, tampering with evidence, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
21-year-old Isaac Jeffery Williams Jr. disobeyed police commands to get on the ground in the area of South Broad Street and East First Street.
He then threw a book bag into the Coosa River.
Williams told police the book bag he threw into the river contained “CBD.”
Man charged with meth, firearm possession
A Lindale man was arrested over the weekend at Highway 101 and Rockdale Drive on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
26-year-old Jordan Shane Franks was found with a firearm and a pipe containing suspected methamphetamine.
Franks is also being held for a probation violation.
Woman charged with being a party to a crime
A Garden Lakes woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with being a party to a crime.
According to the warrant:
39-year-old Anna Elizabeth Huckaby was present and benefitted when another person used a government-issued EBT card without permission from the victim.
The incident occurred back in September.
Man charged with meth possession
A traffic stop Saturday on Chulio Road near Cumberland Drive ended with the arrest of a North Rome man on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 46-year-old Matthew Lee Gresham was stopped for an expired tag.
A K9 indication led to the discovery of methamphetamine and a glass pipe.
Gresham is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, and operation of an unregistered vehicle without a current license plate.
Woman charged with meth possession and felony shoplifting
A Buchanan woman is facing a felony theft by shoplifting charge following her arrest Saturday at the East Rome Walmart.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
58-year-old Lisa Ann Smith took just over $529 in merchandise, including razors, nicotine gum, and a bath mat.
She also attempted to discard a small baggie of methamphetamine by throwing it in a trash can.
Smith is also charged with possession of meth, and giving a false name or date of birth to law enforcement.
Man accused of harassing woman
An East Rome man was recently arrested on charges of aggravated stalking and obstruction of officers.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
26-year-old Eric Jermaine Montgomery Jr. violated a conditional bond by contacting a woman with the intention of harassing her.
He then obstructed officers from doing their duty.
