A swearing-in ceremony took place Monday afternoon at the Floyd County Probate Court.

Superior Court Judge William Sparks administered oaths to several officials, including newly elected County Commissioner Mike Burnes and returning Commissioner Allison Watters.

Dave Roberson was sworn in for his second term as Floyd County Sheriff, while Leigh Patterson took the oath to continue her role as District Attorney.

Other officials sworn in included Chief Magistrate Gene Richardson, Coroner Gene Proctor, and Board of Elections members Jerry Lee, Jennifer Perkins, and David Guldenschuh.

To conclude the ceremony, Sheriff Roberson also swore in members of the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office command staff.
