- A 24-year-old Rome woman is facing charges after allegedly causing a wreck and attempting to flee while intoxicated. According to Floyd County Jail records, Demiyah Teshon Dublin was reportedly involved in a crash at Darlington Way and East 9th Street, according to police reports. Witnesses claim she tried to leave the scene after the incident. Dublin is now charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
- A 40-year-old Shannon woman was taken into custody after being linked to a theft incident at the East Rome Wal-Mart. According to Floyd County Jail records, Connie Leeann Vann faces charges of felony and misdemeanor shoplifting as well as giving a false name to law enforcement. Surveillance footage shows Vann and two others pushing a cart loaded with items through fire doors, abandoning it as employees approached. The stolen merchandise was valued at $1,266. Officers later found Vann loitering in the parking lot, where she was arrested after repeatedly providing false identification.
- A 21-year-old man from North Rome was arrested on Calhoun Avenue Friday morning after animal control officers discovered two severely neglected dogs at his residence. Floyd County Jail records state that Bradley Leshun Chatman has been charged with felony cruelty to animals. The dogs were found in a malnourished and disfigured state, with inadequate shelter and unhygienic living conditions.
- A 63-year-old Gaylesville woman was taken into custody on drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Highway 411 near Dodd Boulevard. According to Floyd County Jail records, a K9 officer alerted authorities to the presence of narcotics in Ethel Frances Jeter’s vehicle. A subsequent search revealed Alprazolam pills in Jeter’s purse, which were not stored in their original container. Jeter is now being charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, drugs not in their original container, and allowing an unlicensed individual to operate a vehicle.
