Staff Reports –
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has released a hazardous weather outlook for this weekend due to cold temperatures.
A Freeze warning is in effect for Northwest Georgia from 2 AM to 11 AM on Saturday. Sub-freezing temperatures are expected to be as low as 29 degrees.
Starting Saturday night a Freeze Watch will be in effect until Sunday Morning. Sub-freezing temperatures could get as low as 23 degrees.
WRGA News reminds our listeners and readers to take steps to protect their property from frost and freeze conditions that can kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
