A 56-year-old Aragon man is dead following a shooting on Reservoir Street in Rome Saturday.

According to the Rome Police Department:

At around 7:36 p.m., a “shots fired” call was reported outside an apartment complex located at Park Homes.

The victim was found outside the building and had suffered a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to Atrium Floyd Health Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The body will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.

The incident remains under investigation currently by the Rome Police Department to determine the cause of the altercation.
