It will be a packed agenda for Floyd County Commissioners when they meet Tuesday.
The county commission will conduct public hearings regarding a number of recommendations from the planning commission.
Those include:
- A rezoning request for a residential development with 81 houses on 32 acres off Eden Valley Road just east of the Norfolk Southern railroad crossing.
- A rezoning for a proposed Dollar General store on the southeast corner of Black’s Bluff and Fosters Mill roads.
- A special use permit to add a paintball facility and some additional recreational vehicle spots at the Cedar Creek RV & Outdoor Center in Cave Spring.
Other agenda items include the re-adoption of the Unified Land Development Code and zoning maps, and a proposed five-year update to the short-term work plan found within the Rome-Floyd-Cave Spring Comprehensive Plan.
The commission will also take time to recognize several county employees for their service and accomplishments.
During the pre-meeting caucus, the board will get an update on utility work from Tony Ferguson with Georgia Power.
The caucus will begin at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m.
