STAFF REPORTS
Out of an abundance of caution, and in response to possible COVID-19 cases and exposures, Armuchee High School has canceled their football game against The King’s Academy this Friday.
In addition, the team will not have practice until next Monday, Aug 23rd.
Coach Jeremy Green issued a statement Tuesday that said:
“This was a very difficult and honestly, gut-wrenching decision to make. I want everyone to know that it was 100% my decision. It did not come down from the county or our administration. I made this decision as the head coach of our football team based on the facts at hand. The safety and well-being of our players will always be my first priority and that is not something I’m willing to compromise on. Based on this I determined that it was best for our team to hit the “reset button” and focus on getting kids healthy or ensuring that they are healthy.”
Armuchee has two open dates in their schedule that will allow them to find a game to replace this one and they are already working on that.
