The Superior Court of Floyd County announced Tuesday afternoon that polling places would extend their hours from 7 PM to 9 PM after software errors in voting machines at various Floyd locations presented delays.
according to the order: “Because of the delay in having voting machines available and the demand for provisional ballots, the board of elections for Floyd County has asked the court for an order permitting the hours of operation at all polling locations to be extended by two hours through 9:00 PM eastern daylight time.”
“The Court agrees and finds that such an extension of hours of operation of all polling locations is necessary and appropriate to ensure compliance with the primary and election laws of this state, and additionally, is in the public interest to ensure that voters at all polling locations to have an equal opportunity to vote.”
