The Chieftains Museum and Major Ridge Home –
On Wednesday, The Chieftains Museum and Major Ridge Home in Rome has re-opened its doors to the public. The following is a press release from the museum:
“We will be open Wednesday-Saturday from 10:00am-4:00pm–closing an hour earlier than our regular operating hours each day to clean and sanitize the museum. Employees will wear face masks and we respectfully ask visitors to wear one as well. All interactives have been temporarily removed but visitors will have access to coloring sheets and other activities to take home.
The museum will comply with local public health mandates and CDC guidelines to protect the health of our visitors and employees. As a small historic house museum, it is difficult to socially distance within the house so we ask that you follow the following guidelines we have set in place for your safety and the safety of our employees:
Keep in mind that no more than 10 people will be allowed in the museum at one time, visitors are asked to stay six feet from other visitors, and facial coverings will be required to tour the museum. If you do not have one, a mask will be provided for you. “
